The freshman to do list: 25 tips

1.    Ask as many faculty for directions, an hour before your classes begin.
2.    Use the force to fill out your Student Planner
3.    At UAA there are many attractive people and just because someone looks at you or smiles your way, it doesn’t mean they’re in love with you.
4.    There’s more to life than sex.
5.    Modest is Hottest
6.    Meet and greet as many teachers, people, students, and neighbors, as possible.
7.    Use a doorstop to meet new people.
8.    Always remember this is College, not high school.
9.    College students are not hermit crabs, so break out of that high school shell and talk to someone.
10.    Never sit alone.
11.    Find friends with cars.

12.    Read the paper and stay updated on campus or community activities.
13.    Don’t be a shut-in.
14.    Don’t be a fake, like Paris Hilton.
15.    Be yourself, enough said.
16.    Studies come first, breathing comes second.
17.    Don’t ignore free stuff
18.    Be an opportunist and take advantage of the endless opportunities on campus.
19.    Sleep.
20.    Watch out for bikes, while walking.
21.    Winterize your wardrobe, seriously and don’t try to be fashionable.
22.    Invest in a flashlight, if you’re afraid of the dark.
23.    Turn your phone off during lectures and you might get a better grade.
24.    Don’t be afraid to like what music or styles you want to like. Its called personal taste.
25.    When dancing, don’t be afraid to jam it out inside the circle- It’ll melt away those freshman pounds.
