Welcome back students, staff and faculty! Meet your bloggers.

Happy Birthday, TNL!
This  blog celebrates the launch of a fresh new school year, and the amazing fact that The Northern Light student newspaper has turned 25! TNL and UAA Advancement are co-hosting this cyber journal in honor of TNL's milestone birthday.

Heck, some of the reporters weren't even born when the paper began. For a state as young as Alaska, that's some serious history. Hence, our blog design is a nod to the gritty, pencil-pocked life of the Reporter in our not-yet-post-journalism era. Long live the journalist! Keep reading to find out who your back-to-campus correspondents are.

OK, now that we got that off our chest, what else is here? You will find information you must know. And some information you should know.

But over the next three weeks, you will also find some otherwise totally unnecessary and refreshing perspectives on this giant academic wave cresting and crashing on our campus beach. This tide will wash in some precious gems!

How's that for hyperbole?

We know this creativity will flow because this is our third year of welcoming the campus with an army of writers. We like to introduce them here at the start. But like the Pied Piper, we add writers as we progress, so this list will still grow.

So far and in no particular order, [drum roll, please] scribes this year include:
  • Ruddy Abam, Orientation Wolf Pack leader and professional model
  • Andria P. Cross, Student Health Center official correspondent
  • Megan Marquis, The Northern Light staff
  • Barbara Armstrong, editor, Justice Center
  • Pearl-Grace Rasmussen, sports reporter, KRUA
  • Audrey Snyder, executive editor, The Northern Light
  • Tim Brown, photo editor, The Northern Light
  • Anel Quiroz, Orientation Wolf Pack leader, 1st gen college student
  • Joe Selmont, creator of last year's serialized love story, Info Desk jockey
  • Lindsey Chadwell, assistant registrar (great person to know!)
  • Christie Ericson, UAA/APU Consortium Library, library secrets
  • Oliver Petraitis, music manager, KRUA, composer and musician
  • Glenna Muncy, parking services and best-spots-to-view campus
  • Rachel Morse, UAA CBPP alum, and alumni relations vice chancellor
  • Nithya Thiru, news, sports and public affairs reporter, KRUA
  • Connor Keesecker, news reporter, KRUA, born at Providence Hospital
